Recommendations for Oily Skin

Picture this: It is summer time, you are at your favourite lunch spot and get your usual outdoor table and feast away. You go to the bathroom and your face is as oily as deep fried chicken you ate for lunch.

Ok, so it may not have been through exactly that – but you have been through something like that. So, let me help you with that. I have five recommendations that will let you thrive with an oily complexion.

A primer sets the tone for the rest of your makeup, choose the wrong primer and you are basically doomed from the start. Though not name a ‘primer’, I 10/10 vouch for the Nivea Post Shave Balm as primer. Having oily skin unfortunately means your makeup moves around a lot more, but with the Nivea Post Shave Balm, your makeup will last all day in the heat without wearing off because it sticks to your face so well. A little goes a long way with this product and such a great price as well!

Next, a trusty foundation that can control your shine. The Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint is an excellent product to get this job done. Yes, it is called a skin tint- but the coverage builds up so well that it may as well be a foundation. The finish is very smooth which is rare with matte products.

Always set your face no matter what. The RCMA No Colour Powder is the perfect powder that not only locks in foundation, but tames oily skin the best. The only down side to this is the packaging, but it is a minor flaw that we can overlook because of how great the powder is.

It is important to powder your face. My favourite to powder with is the L’Oreal True Match ‘The Powder’. I have been using this for YEARS and it never lets me down. The packaging is also extremely convenient because of its compact mirror.

And of course, we can’t forget about blotting sheets. I use the Sasatinnie rose scented oil blotting paper. I got this from Christy while she was over in Hong Kong, so if you can somehow get your hands on these – get it!
